Before you start your first run with Garmin and Stryd, ensure you have installed the Stryd Zones Data Fields on your watch.
Now that you have added Stryd Zones Data Fields to your Garmin watch, it’s time to go for your first run! Ensure you have your Garmin, Stryd pod(s), and phone for this setup.
First Run with Stryd & Garmin Instructions:
On your Garmin, press the Start button on the top right of the watch.
Select the run mode you wish to use. We recommend starting with Run Mode because this is the mode you were walked through during the setup process.
While you wait for the GPS and Stryd sensors to connect, you can scroll through your data screens to find the Stryd Zones Data screens. You can scroll through the data screens by clicking the button labeled Down. This is the bottom left button on the watch.
When you come across the Stryd Zones Data Fields, you will see “PWR Searching.” When the Stryd pod(s) connect, it will say Stryd OK; if you have Duo, it will say Duo OK.
From the Stryd Zones Data Fields screen, you can click the Start button on the top right of the watch to begin the run.
As you run, notice that the power number displayed will change and fluctuate depending on your effort.
When you are ready to end the run, select the Start/Stop button on the top right of the watch.
You will have the option to continue the run, save it, or take other actions. Scroll down once to Save Run by pressing the down button and then the start button to select the option you wish to choose.
Once the run has been saved on your Garmin watch, it will be loaded to your Garmin Connect app on your phone. After the run loads to Garmin Connect, it will be loaded to the Stryd app. If the run does not show up on the Stryd app immediately, check your Garmin Connect app to ensure your Watch has correctly exported the original file.
Troubleshooting Tips:
Double-check that everything is set up correctly if you can not find the Stryd Zones Data Fields on your Garmin Watch. Please follow these instructions to ensure the Stryd Zones Data Fields are installed and configured correctly. Make sure you start with Step Zero and progress chronologically through Step Four.
If you have the Stryd Zones Data Fields correctly installed but the Stryd pod(s) are not connecting, you should first make sure the Stryd pod(s) are taken out of shipping mode. Please follow these instructions to activate and charge the Stryd pod(s).
