Updated over a week ago

If you are seeing this article while setting up Stryd for the first time via the mobile app, after creating a new account, skip to Step 1.

Before setting up your Garmin watch with Stryd, be sure to pair your Stryd pod to the Stryd mobile app in the app Settings.

Step 0: Connecting Garmin Account with Stryd and Installing Stryd Zones Datafield.

NOTE: If you are seeing this article while setting up Stryd for the first time via the mobile app, after creating a new account, skip to Step 1.

  1. In the Stryd app, click Settings.

  2. Select ‘Connected Accounts’.

  3. Select ‘Garmin Connect’.

  4. Allow both ‘Import’ AND ‘Export’.

  5. Select the ‘Back’ button to view the Stryd Settings.

  6. Select your ‘Stryd’ or ‘Stryd Duo’ from the Paired Devices list.

  7. Write down your ANT-ID, for the next step. This will ensure that your Stryd connects only to your watch in the future.

  8. Open Garmin Connect app on your phone.

  9. From the home screen of the app, select the ‘more’ button (3 horizontal dots).

  10. Scroll down and select ‘Connect IQ Store’.

  11. Search for ‘Stryd Zones’ in the search bar, and install it.

Step 1: Configuring Stryd Zones Datafield in Connect IQ

In previous steps you downloaded the Stryd Zones Datafield. Now we are going to ensure the datafield is properly configured. These are required steps.

  1. Once ‘Stryd Zones | Data Field’ has been downloaded, select Settings.

  2. Enter the “Stryd ANT ID” you saved before in the the ANT-ID field.

  3. Enter the (STRYD USERNAME) used to create your account in the username field.

Optional: come back to the data field Settings at any time to customize your screen.

If you are unable to install the Stryd Zones Data Fields on your Mobile device then you may need to install the Data Fields using Garmin Express.

Step 2: Configuring Stryd Zones on Your Watch

Now that you’re done in the Connect/Connect IQ app, make sure your app syncs with your watch, and then continue configuring the Stryd Zones Datafield on the watch.

  1. On your Garmin watch, press and hold the left middle button (labeled UP) to access the watch Settings.

  2. Scroll down to Settings and select the 'Sensors and Accessories' menu

  3. Select ‘Add New’ and select ‘Search all sensors’. NOTE: Move your Stryd Pod around as your watch searches.

  4. Add the following sensors: (FP-ANTID)

For compatible watches, Stryd Duo owners can add: (RD Pod-ANTID)

  1. Press and hold the left middle button (labeled UP) to return to the clock face.

  2. Press and hold the left middle button (labeled UP) to access the watch Settings.

  3. Scroll down to Settings and select ‘Activities & Apps’.

  4. Select the run mode you use most (Run mode, Treadmill mode, Trail mode, Track mode, etc.)

  5. Select ‘Run Settings’.

  6. Select ‘Data Screens’.

  7. Scroll down to the bottom and select ‘Add New’.

  8. Select ‘Custom Data’, and then select ‘Field 1’.

  9. Select ‘ConnectIQ Fields’ and then select ‘Stryd Zones

  10. Move ‘Stryd Zones’ to the desired position and confirm.

Pair and Disable Redundant Connections

Because Garmin is constantly searching for Bluetooth and Ant+ devices, it is necessary to pair Stryd across all broadcasting channels and then disable those not in use.

  1. On your Garmin watch, press and hold the left middle button (labeled UP) to access the watch Settings.

  2. Scroll down to Settings and select the 'Sensors and Accessories' menu

  3. Select ‘Add New’ and selectSearch all sensors’. NOTE: Move your Stryd Pod around as your watch searches.

  4. Add each of the following sensors: (PWR-ANTID), (FP-StrydX), and for Stryd Duo you will also see (RD Pod-ANTID) and an additional (FP-StrydX).

    1. NOTE: If you don't see all of these sensors, select ‘search all’ again to add any missed sensors. Be sure to move your Stryd pod around to activate all the sensors. If you still don't see all the sensors that is fine, continue to the next step.

  5. Go back to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Activities and Apps’

  6. Select select ‘Run’ mode.

  7. Select ‘Run Settings’.

  8. Select ‘Laps’ and toggle Auto-Lap to OFF.

  9. Return to the watch face by pressing and holding the left middle button (labeled UP).

Required for Some Watches: Disable Garmin Native Power

Some Garmin watches provide a power number. To ensure that there isn’t a conflict between Garmin Power and Stryd Power we recommend disabling Garmin Power for these watches. To check, follow these steps:

  1. On your Garmin watch, press and hold the left middle button (labeled UP) to access the watch Settings.

  2. Scroll down to Settings and select the 'Sensors and Accessories' menu

  3. Return to ‘Run Settings’ and scroll down and select ‘Running Power’ (Again, this feature is only available on some Garmin watches).

  4. Toggle Running Power status to OFF.

Performing your first run:

You’re all set! If you have a workout-compatible watch, you can perform a guided workout by scheduling a run from the workout library (available with the Stryd Membership) or signing up for a training plan for a guided experience.

If you choose not to do a guided run, you’ll still see Stryd power on your watch in the field where you enabled it in the above steps.
