Before you set up your COROS watch with Stryd, make sure you pair your Stryd pod to the Stryd mobile app.
You will also want to make sure that you have the correct weight and height settings on the Stryd pod.
Only the COROS Pace 2, Pace 3, Apex, Apex Pro, Apex 2, Apex 2 Pro, Vertix, and Vertix 2 are compatible.
Step 0: Link the COROS app to the Stryd app
Linking the COROS app to the Stryd app will automatically sync run data recorded with your COROS to your Stryd platform.
Open the Stryd Mobile app
Select Settings
Select Connected Accounts
Select COROS
Sign in with your COROS account and make sure that Running Power is toggled on in the Data Access screen of the COROS app.
You will be redirected back to the Stryd app.
You have successfully connected. Your next activity with Stryd data in it will automatically import to PowerCenter!
Step 1: Pair Stryd as a Sensor to your COROS Watch
Please open up your COROS app and ensure that you have the latest firmware.
Grab your COROS watch.
Scroll through the menu on the watch and select System.
Select Accessories.
Select Add ANT+ for most COROS watches. Select Add Bluetooth for COROS Vertix 2 and Pace 3 ONLY.
Move Stryd as your watch searches for it.
Stryd will be shown as a STRYD sensor and as a POWER sensor. You should select STRYD. You should not select the POWER sensor.
You have successfully paired Stryd! Please proceed to Step 2 to add a Power Screen to your COROS watch.
Step 2: Add Stryd Power to COROS data screens
You need to add running power to the data screen of your COROS watch to be able to see Stryd power while running and to make sure that your watch records all the Stryd data.
COROS can show real-time, (Running Power), average, lap average, 3s average, 10s average, and 30s average. You can have as many power data fields as you like, and you can combine power with any other metric provided by COROS.
You need to use the COROS app to change the data fields on your COROS watch.
Open up the COROS app
Select the device page under "My Devices"
Select "Activity Settings"
Select "Run" (repeat for a trial run, etc. as applicable)
Select "Activity Data Page"
Scroll right on the menu above 'activity time' and select 'Power'
Add 'Running Power'
Select 'Save'
Step 3: (Optional) Use Stryd for Pace and Distance
Once you pair Stryd as a sensor to your watch, your watch will automatically get pace from Stryd.
If you would like to get distance from Stryd, you need to configure the sensor pairing.
On your watch, go into System
Select Accessories
Select Stryd
Select Distance Setting
Select Use Stryd
Step 4: Import and Execute Structured Workouts with COROS
Compatible COROS watches can execute Stryd Power-Based workouts. Make sure your Stryd app and COROS watch are up-to-date.
Option 1: Stryd Power-Based Workouts Import onto COROS Watch
Workouts on the Stryd calendar can sync to the COROS workout calendar. Then you can execute the Stryd Workouts on the COROS watch. Once these workouts are completed, the workout will sync to the COROS and Stryd calendar.
Step 1: Allow Stryd to push Training Plan workouts to COROS
Here are the instructions for pushing Stryd Workouts to your COROS workout calendar. Please note that once you start a Stryd plan on COROS, you will no longer need to sync the plans through the Training Plan Library on COROS.
Open the COROS mobile app
From the “Progress” screen, select your watch in the top left corner of the screen.
From the “My Device” screen, select the Training Plan Library
Then select the Stryd Training Plan
Then select Add Training Plan
Step 2: Update Stryd Settings to import and export to COROS
You will need to ensure that the settings in the Stryd mobile app include “Import Activities From” as well as “Export Workout To” options turned on.
Open the Stryd Mobile App
Select Settings
Select Connected Accounts
Make sure COROS is listed as a connected account and if it is not, add it to the connected accounts list.
Select COROS from the connected accounts list
Turn on both Import Activities and Export Workouts
Step 3: Begin using Stryd Workout on your COROS watch
Here are the instructions for starting a Stryd Workout on your COROS watch.
First, you need to make sure that you follow the instructions above to add the Stryd workouts to your COROS calendar.
Press the crown button on the watch
Scroll and select Training Plan
Select today
Press the crown button to start the Stryd workout
Alternatively, if you select a run mode from your COROS watch, you will be asked if you would like to execute the workout scheduled for today. This can be useful if you want to use Indoor mode or Track mode to complete a Stryd Workout.
Stryd will only push workouts to your COROS calendar seven days in advance. Thus, you can only view seven days' worth of workouts at a time. This is similar to our policy with TrainingPeaks and Final Surge.
Option 2: TrainingPeaks Power-Based Workouts for COROS
TrainingPeaks lists power-based training plans created by coaches here: Training Plan Store. You can also create your own structured power-based workouts in TrainingPeaks following these instructions.
To execute the workouts using a COROS watch, but do all of your analysis through Stryd PowerCenter, use the following configuration:
Connect your Stryd account to your COROS account to import your runs (details on this are available here: How to automatically sync activities from your COROS watch to PowerCenter)
Connect your TrainingPeaks account to your Stryd account to import your training plan (details on how are available here: How do I connect my training platform to Stryd’s ecosystem?)
Connect your TrainingPeaks account to your COROS account so you can execute your workouts (steps available here: TrainingPeaks+COROS)
Now you can execute a workout on the watch in real-time using Stryd power and then complete all of your workout analysis (comparing planned workout to actual completion) in the Stryd ecosystem!
Option 3: Build a Workout on the COROS App
If you want to build a workout in the COROS app you can. For details on how to use the COROS workout builder, read COROS Structured Workouts.
Please note that you can also build Stryd Power-Based workouts in the Stryd app. If you build a workout in the COROS app, this workout card will not appear in the Stryd app. The Stryd team recommends that COROS users build workouts in the Stryd app instead.
Execute a Power-Based workout on the COROS Watch
1. Click on the dial of your COROS watch and scroll down to Training
2. Select the workout that you want to do
3. Wait for your watch to acquire GPS, Heart Rate, and Stryd connection
4. You see a screen like this during your workout.
You will be shown Running Power at the top with Blue, Green, and Red colors to help show you if you are below, on, or over the Power Targets, respectively. If you stay out of your target power for more than a few seconds, the watch will beep to notify you. The "Time Left" or time remaining will be displayed in the middle left, "Lap Distance" will be displayed in the middle right, and the number of reps and reps remaining in the segment will be displayed on the bottom. With 5 seconds remaining in the segment, the watch will beep 5 times for every second remaining.
5. After you finish each segment or interval, you will be displayed a summary screen of what you have next. The name of the segment will be on top, total time of the segment will be next, followed by the target power. On the bottom, the segment name will be repeated.
6. When the workout ends, the watch will automatically stop and you will be shown a summary screen.
COROS Workout Limitations
The COROS system has limitations. Not every Stryd workout feature is available on COROS. Depending on the workout, you may need to make some minor edits to comply with COROS compatibility.
Flexible Segments incompatibility
The COROS system does not properly interpret the Stryd Flexible segments.
If you want to keep the Flexible Segments in your workout on your COROS watch, you can. You will just need to keep track of the segment time with another screen on your watch. Then when you are ready to move to the next segment, press the lap button on the COROS watch.
If you want to have structure to your time segments you will need to edit workouts that contain a Flexible Segment and turn the “Advance on Lap Button” option off.
Select the workout that needs to be edited
Select the vertical ellipsis in the top right corner
Select Edit
Scroll down to the segment that needs to be edited
Select “edit” and make the necessary changes
Target None incompatibility
Another Stryd feature that COROS can not interpret is the Stryd Segment Target “None”.
If your workout contains this run power target, you will need to change the target to an actual percent of your CP or an RPE value.
Select the workout that needs to be edited
Select the vertical ellipsis in the top right corner
Select Edit
Scroll down to the segment that needs to be edited
Select “edit” and make the necessary changes
Please note that the COROS Workout features are not yet controlled by Stryd. So if there is a problem with the execution of a workout, it is likely a COROS issue.
If there is an issue with the import or export of a Stryd workout to your COROS watch, please contact Stryd support.
Turning off the Workout sync
There is not currently a way to turn off pushing Stryd Workouts to your COROS workout calendar from the COROS side. The permission that you allowed in "Step 1: Allow Stryd to push Training Plan workouts to COROS" can not be removed at this time. The COROS team currently does not have a feature in place to address this removal.
The user can turn this off from the Stryd app. They just need to go into Stryd Settings -> Connected Accounts -> COROS -> Turn off Export.
Deleting Stryd Workouts:
There are limitations to the COROS calendar import. Workouts that are already synced to the COROS calendar might not be removed from the COROS side after the workout is removed from the Stryd calendar.
The feature is not consistent on the COROS calendar. However, changes that you make to your training plan on Stryd will always be saved on the Stryd mobile app and PowerCenter.
