The Stryd app can track your shoe's mileage and help remind you when the shoe is accumulating too many miles.
Adding new Shoes
You can access the Shoe tracking feature from the Stryd app Settings or you can add Shoe Tracking to the Summary screen of the Stryd app.
Accessing the shoe tracking feature from the Stryd app Settings:
Open Settings in the Stryd app
Scroll down and Select Shoes
Select the (+) button in the top right corner of the shoe screen
Add any pair of shoes you run in
Be sure to set a mileage limit
Stryd default mileage limit works for most users
Accessing the shoe tracking from the Summary screen in the Stryd app:
Open the Stryd app and ensure you are viewing the Summary screen
Scroll through the Summary screen until you find the Shoe section
To add a new pair of shoes, select the “Add new shoe” button
Please note that if you do not see the shoe section on the Summary screen you can add it by selecting “Edit” at the bottom of the Summary screen and adding shoes to the Summary screen.
Set a default shoe
Once your shoe is entered into the Stryd app, you can set it as your default so it is automatically tagged to future runs. This can be useful if you typically wear the same pair of shoes every day.
You can either set the shoe as your default shoe when adding it to your shoe list, or you can make an existing shoe on your list the default shoe.
Additionally, on iOS you can swipe left on a shoe to see this option, and on Android, you can accomplish the same with a long press.
Don’t see your shoe?
When you select Add new shoes, you can scroll down to the bottom of the list and select “Other brand…”. Here you can continue without a brand or request that the Stryd team add a new brand.
Please note that it will take some time for the developers to add new shoe brands.
Retiring Shoes / Removing Shoes
Once you stop using a pair of shoes, you can “retire” the shoe and it will be removed from the list of shoes displayed in your shoe tab.
Access your list of shoes from the shoe tracking feature from the Stryd app Settings or the Summary screen in the Stryd app.
iOS and Android have slightly different controls to retire the shoe:
iOS: Swipe left on the shoe you wish to retire. This will give you the option to confirm the action and retire the shoe.
Android: Long press on the shoe you wish to retire. This will give you the option to confirm the action and retire the shoe.
If you need to view your list of retired shoes, you can. While in the shoe tab, select “View Retired Shoes”.
If you need to restore a previously retired shoe, you can. For Android hold down on the shoe you wish to restore or for iPhone swipe to the left to restore.
View your shoe mileage
You will be able to see the mileage you have on each of your shoes once you access the shoe tracking feature. You can access the Shoe tracking feature from the Stryd app Settings or you can add Shoe Tracking to the Summary screen of the Stryd app.
