Updated over a week ago

1. What is Run Form & Shoe Analytics?

Run Form & Shoe Analytics is a groundbreaking feature from Stryd that transforms your running data into actionable insights. This powerful tool allows you to:

  • Visualize your running evolution over time

  • Compare your performance metrics against peers and top runners

  • Identify trends in your running form

  • Spot potential signs of fatigue or injury risk

  • Optimize your training intensities for different types of runs

Run Form & Shoe Analytics provides in-depth analysis of crucial metrics including:

  • Critical Power: Your sustainable power output

  • Duty Factor: Ground contact time relative to your stride cycle

  • Vertical Oscillation: Up-and-down movement during running

  • Leg Spring Stiffness: Efficiency of your leg's energy storage and return

  • Impact Loading Rate: How quickly force is applied to your body with each step

By analyzing these metrics across different time periods and running speeds, Footpath Analytics offers a comprehensive view of your running performance and progress.

2. How can I access this feature?

Footpath Analytics is available to Stryd members through the Stryd PowerCenter. To access it:

  1. Go to stryd.com/powercenter/

  2. Log in to your Stryd account

  3. Navigate to the "Footpath Analysis" tab

Note: You must have an active Stryd membership to access this feature.

3. How can I use this feature?

Once you've accessed the Footpath Analysis tab in PowerCenter, follow these steps to use Run Form & Shoe Analytics:

  1. Select a month to analyze:

    • Click on the date selector at the top of the page

    • Choose the month you want to analyze

  2. (Optional) Compare with another month:

    • Click the "+" button next to the first date selector

    • Choose a second month to compare your data

  3. Select speed ranges:

    • Use the "Frequency at Speed" bar at the bottom of the page to select specific speed ranges

    • The graph will update to show your average footpath when running at the selected speed(s)

  4. Analyze your footpath:

    • The main graph shows your average footpath for the selected speed and time period

    • If you've selected two months, you can compare how your footpath has changed over time

  5. Review performance metrics:

    • On the right side of the screen, you'll see how you compare to other runners in your age and gender group for key metrics like Leg Spring Stiffness, Critical Power, and Duty Factor

    • These comparisons are shown as histograms, with your position marked in blue

  6. Explore different views:

    • Use the tabs at the top of the main graph to switch between different views of your footpath (e.g., side view, top view)

  7. Identify trends and insights:

    • Look for changes in your footpath shape or metrics over time

    • Pay attention to how your metrics compare to your peer group

    • Use these insights to inform your training decisions and track your progress

Remember, the power of Run Form & Shoe Analytics Analytics lies in its ability to show trends over time. Regular use will provide the most valuable insights into your running performance and development.
