How can I calculate stride length?
How can I calculate stride length?
Updated over a week ago

Stryd is working to add stride length to its exposed metrics and is already available in the iOS app.

For those that do not have an iOS device, you can easily calculate stride length using cadence and pace.

1. Calculate how many meters per minute you are moving. For example, if you are running 5:30 min/km, you run 1000 / 5.5 = 182 meters per minute (if using miles, simply multiply miles by 1.609 to get kilometers)

2. Cadence is reported in steps per minute. For example, let's say you run 5:30 min/km and your cadence is 180 steps per minute (SPM). This means your step length is 182/180 = 1.0.1 meters

3. Stride length could be defined as two steps, in which case the stride length would be 2x step length of 2.0.2 meters in this example
