Getting Started

New users onboarding.

Updated over a year ago

New Stryd users will have the opportunity to complete either three easy runs or a week of testing to immediately receive an accurate Critical Power estimate. In the past, users had to complete 90 minutes of total running and up to two weeks of intense testing to receive an accurate Critical Power. This new onboarding flow is more effective and can help users start a training plan in a few days.

Who is eligible for this new onboarding?

Only new users who have recently created a Stryd account will be eligible. Accounts created after September 08, 2023, will have access to this feature.

If you created your account before this date, you may want to consider performing a Critical Power Test to help the Stryd system update your data.

How can I Get Started?

After creating a new Stryd profile, select the "Get Started" banner at the top of the Summary screen in the Stryd app.

Next, you will be asked a series of questions to help the Stryd system determine the best plan for you.

You will always have the option to override Stryd's suggestion.

The two testing options are either a week of Critical Power tests or three easy runs. Both of these options will give you a good estimate but the week of Critical Power tests is more accurate.

As you complete the workouts on your account, you will receive notifications in the app to aid you in your progress.

These notifications are called Status Cards and can be helpful in showing you how many days of testing you have left, or if you skipped a day of training and need to reschedule.

Plan Completion

After you complete every scheduled workout in your plan, you will be presented with a Critical Power!

If you did the three easy day estimation, this Critical Power number will be an estimate. If you complete the week of testing, your Critical Power will be accurate.

Deleting the Getting Started plan

If for some reason, you do not have the time or desire to complete one of these two flows, you can delete the plan. You just need to follow these instructions:

Deleting Testing Week

  1. Open the Stryd app

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Training Plans

  4. Delete the training plan

Deleting Three Easy Runs

  1. Open the Stryd app

  2. Open the Stryd Calendar

  3. Select one of the Easy Runs

  4. Delete the Easy Run

  5. Select "Cancel Critical Power Estimation"

Please note that if you continue to upload Stryd data to your account, you will not have the option to complete this testing flow. If after 90 minutes of data or an auto-generated Critical Power, you will need to complete a different flow to update your Critical Power.
